Frequently asked questions
What kind of concerns do you treat?
The services treat a range of issues from depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, addictions, trauma, stress management, stage of life changes, bereavement and loss or workplace challenges.
Where is treatment?
Services take place via telehealth, with hours that include some afternoons and evenings Monday to Friday.
I have a friend to talk to. Why would I go to therapy?
Therapy is different from talking to a friend because a therapist is a neutral, unbiased professional who is legally and ethically bound to confidentiality. The therapist applies science-backed theores and modalities to help you reach the goals you are wanting to reach and meets you at where you are at.
How long will treatment last?
The length of time depends on your symptom severity and a variety of other factors. As the client, you typically will set the frequency of sessions.
What does a Clinical Social Worker do? How does it differ from other licenses?
Clinical Social Work is a branch of Social Work that focuses on psychology, sociology and biology such as neuroscience. Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) require a Masters Degree, a post-graduate internship with 3,000 hours, a clinical exam, approval by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (or respective state) and on-going CEUs in order to maintain the license. Other licenses like LPC, LMFT, PhD, and PsyD also offer mental health services and are also excellent choices.
What are your fees? Do you take insurance?
I accept United and Aetna insurance within some states. Please contact me for more information. For other insurance types, please check to see if your plan offers an out-of-network benefit. This benefit may cover a percentage of the hourly fee. The hourly fee is $150/50 minute therapy hour.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes, I offer free 15-minute consultations. Please find my contact information on the “Contact” page to arrange a time to talk.
